Free Tax Preparation

You are here

Last year, volunteers helped more than 5,185 local residents claim over $1.7 million in Earned Income Tax Credits and bring $6,975,952 in refunds into the local economy. On average a person using free tax preparation services saves $159 (National Society of Accountants).

Our Role

We partner with the AARP Foundation, IRS, Spokane CASH Coalition, and connect and certify volunteers to provide free tax preparation for low and moderate income workers.

Our Strategy

Families that have access to free tax preparation services are able to keep more of their hard earned money allowing them to gain and sustain assets.  On average over 5,000 people are served and many receive increased refunds because of the assistance provided in claiming Earned Income Tax Credits and Child Care Tax Credits.
