Our Goal

Spokane County United Way believes that people are inspired to share their passion, expertise and resources through volunteerism when they are supported and encouraged to do so, and this ideal is echoed in the core beliefs of the Emerging Leaders Society (ELS).

Our Role

Professional Networking typically happens over lunch, or the occasional happy hour. Volunteerism is what sets ELS apart from other professional associations. ELS uses volunteer events as a networking opportunity for members to do something big, gain experience, expand their networks and make an impact. Through rolling up our sleeves and serving the community. ELS is committed to creating a solid volunteer-based networking platform for like-minded, community oriented, mid-career professionals to develop the skills and connections to become the next generation of Spokane’s leaders.
Spokane County United Way utilizes an easy-to-use web-based platform that matches the right donors, advocates, and volunteers with the right opportunities in our neighborhoods, and is the official tool of the (ELS) for anything and everything volunteer-related. Use this site to sort and filter volunteer opportunities by area of interest (disaster relief, board service, education, etc...) , specific need (ex. skilled labor, marketing, special events, etc...) , or agency (the non-profits looking for YOUR help!) When it comes to service work, it’s important to realize that, similar to an actual career, not all volunteer positions fit everyone and there is always a need somewhere. Let us play matchmaker and find you that volunteer opportunity you'll fall in love with!

Join Our Volunteer Efforts

ELS uses Spokane County United Way's web platform to find volunteer opportunities that make a real difference in the Spokane County community! Whether it is important to you to solve a community problem, advance a worthy cause, advocate for those without a voice, or to develop as a person, volunteering offers many benefits, and we can help connect you towards starting the change we all want to see in our community.
