Account Executives (AEs), (also called Loaned Executives, or LEs), are employees, carefully selected by their
employers, or sponsored by businesses, who are "on loan" to United Way during the peak campaign season in the
fall. They work with volunteer leaders and United Way staff to plan and conduct fundraising campaigns in workplaces
throughout Spokane County. They come from all segments of the business community: management, labor, entry-level
and senior level. AEs are individuals who can manage important projects. They’re enthusiastic self-starters, as well
as team players, and they make an immeasurable contribution in building a healthy community.

The companies that support our AE program receive the following benefits:
- Fulfill a commitment to community support
- Enhance your corporate image as a civic leader
- Strengthen relationships with other companies and individuals
- Develop a company-wide culture of community
- Improve morale by enriching the life of an employee through special training and experience
Employees who serve as AEs also benefit:
- Develop personal and professional skills such as public speaking, management, planning and organization, listening skills, team building, and customer service
- Learn more about the community in which they live and work
- Gain self-confidence and develop initiative
- Meet and interact with other community-involved leaders
And of course, the community benefits:
- Expand its ability to reach out to its citizens through well-trained, highly motivated workers
- Contain administrative costs so more of the dollars raised can go to vital human care services right here at home

In the traditional Account Executive program organizations designate one or more of their own employees to serve in the
community. However, many organizations are interested in helping but unable to participate in the traditional model. Our
Account Executive Sponsorship program allows these organizations to financially support an AE without impacting their
internal staffing levels. The sponsorships are also a popular way for organizations to work together in partnerships for
funding AEs. United Way raises over $40 for every dollar invested by sponsoring organizations.
Either option represents a strong return on investment, and together, the Account Executive programs create a more
efficient delivery of financial support to local families and individuals in need. With the help of participating
organizations, United Way saves over $95,000 annually in fundraising costs.

United Way provides high quality training on a flexible schedule to all our AEs. An individual’s time commitments
can range from several weeks of full-time support, to just a few hours per week. In response to each AE’s individual
needs, we utilize proven training methods to provide an outstanding blend of personal development and professional
skill building. Individuals can select from a combination of sessions to better accommodate their personal schedules.
