Jeff Philipps, 2012-2013 United Way campaign chair and CEO of Rosauers Supermarkets recognized 30 companies for their corporate leadership and employee support in collectively raising $320,000 more than last year – an “amazing 20% increase.” [see box left]

In thanking those who worked to make this year’s campaign so successful, Tim Henkel, president and CEO of Spokane County United Way, said that because of what everyone accomplishes together, “United Way is able to continue to wrap community support around people and create opportunities for a better life for all.”

“Together our gifts help connect children, families and vulnerable adults to community resources.  Our work is about making sure we provide the right support and the right time – whether it is tutoring or mentoring a child at risk of dropping out of schools-helping a family get into stable housing, or providing assistance to someone fleeing an abusive relationship.” read entire story
